Ever since I can remember I have been interested in writing.
One of the earliest presents I received was a rubber stamp kit where you make your own printing galley and publish your own books.
During high school I wrote several stories longhand, retyped them and sent them to magazines such as the Australian Post. Alas, none were accepted! Although I do have several self-bound copies of “books” written in that period.
Then I received a scholarship to do a correspondence writing course and a very wise Mr. Pittaway (sorry, can’t remember his first name) helped me appreciate the finer skills of writing. This certainly helped with my chiropractic education and my first book, The Australian Chiropractor. Later Mr.H.P.Mansfield, editor of the Logos magazine invited me to write a monthly “Signs of the Times” column which continued for several years. Of late I have become a contributing columnist for the South Australian SA50s+ magazine.
